Watch out for # 4, a 444-yard par-4 challenge and the #1 handicap hole on the course. The easiest hole is # 11, a 308 yard par-4.

Way to slow! Took 3 hours 20 minutes to play front 9. Quit after 14 holes and 5 hours. Played here about 10 years ago and walked off after 9 hours and over 3 hours. Had hoped it might have gotten better. Obviously not. Will never return.

I thoroughly enjoyed playing Los Verdes. The view of the Pacific Ocean and Catalina, though somewhat compromised by low clouds and what some thought was a threat of rain, made the day an absolute delight. The fairways were browned out in several places. I assume this is due to our prolonged drought. The biggest problem was the pace of play. We were to tee off at 12:22 P.M. We teed off at 1 P.M. We finished the round at 6:30 P.M. But, I still enjoyed the day!

Play here as part of a league...9 holes starting at 4pm. This was the best regarding pace since i playing here. However, can be brutal at times. Sometimes days are better than others. Weekends can be brutal

This course is down rated because of difficulty in getting a tee time. However, you can get on on a week day without too much trouble. It is a great course with magnificent views of the Catalina Channel and, on clear days all the way to Santa Monica and the Channel Islands. They installed a computerized irrigation system a couple years ago and are now upgrading the bunkers, greens and tees. I play there at least once per week. It's a real gem.

A real Gem, with ocean views. Can't beat the price.

Beautiful course and views. Holes were much more interesting than most municipal course layouts. The food, service, and prices at the bar were pretty good. The only reason I never played here before is what I've heard about the difficulty getting tee times.

It's such a great course to play that I get up at 4:55 am every Sunday to make a tee time for the next Sunday, even though our commute is 1 hour. It is a challenging course, so try to play before 7:30 to complete your round in 4 1/2 hours. The staff is very cordial--John, the weekend morning starter, is very helpful and makes us feel welcomed; Gil, at the first tee, always sends us off happily with wishes for good rounds.

This is my home course and I actually played 4 times during June. It is a great public cousre with ocean views from most holes.

Easily the best public course in Los Angeles County. With ocean views on just about every hole, it draws a lot of golfers more interested in sightseeing than golf... this equals slow play. If you have to play a 51/2 hour round of golf though, this is the place to do it...

Best bang for your $, Great views of the Pacific and Catalina Island, tough greens and $230 LESS than Trump National which is 3 miles south along the coast.

Good course, just foggy in the morning so be ready for a wait.

I love this golf course. I think it's the best value for golf in L.A. County. They had just punched half of the greens, so it was not the greatest putting day for us and they put a fivesome out right ahead of us, I think they thought they were on the PGA Tour with how long they took on the greens. By the 13th hole we had had enough, they were 2 1/2 holes behind the fivesome of women ahead of them and we convinced Robert the "Ambassador" to let us play through. Clear sailing from 14 on, but what could have been a 4 hrs. 30 minute round turned into a 5 hr. 25 minute round. Too bad! Come on people, pick up your pace of play, it will make it a more pleasant day for everyone.

Ambassador on course to keep groups moving, played in 4 and one half hours, views are great.

The views and layout are outstanding, but the course is clearly overplayed and the pace of play was beyond reasonable 7 hours. Nobody on course to get/keep things moving, people on back tees that should not have been, tees and fairways not well kept, overplayed!

Always a treat. Played with the men's club...4:55...not bad for a Saturday, but some of the early groups were a little slow. Great greens.

Los Verdes is a good and challenging course. But the greens "always break to the ocean", which is a common battle cry on every hole. Great views of the ocean from almost every hole on the course.

I have played this course since I was 9 You get many complaints about the pace of play that's because if you can shoot par here you can kick ass on pretty much any course in So Cal . if you are a 90s player good luck breaking 100 on this course. Putts that look like the are breaking uphill, holes that have breaks that are over 5 feet and fairways that if you hit it down the center you can still end up on the next fairway. relax and enjoy the ocean scenery and remember the ball always breaks towards the ocean.
